Description: The Department of Internal Medicine C deals with general internal medicine, with an emphasis on infectious diseases . . We are affiliated with the Haifa Technion's Faculty of Medicine, and provide students with clinical clerkships in the department. In addition, we conduct an out-patient clinic every Tuesday from 10am-2pm. We treat patients suffering from internal and infectious diseases, including AIDS patients. The clinic is operated by the senior physicians, Dr. Ronit Rachmilevich and Dr. Vallery Istumin.

Research activities: 1. URINARY TRACT INFECTION ASSOCIATED WITH URETHRAL STENT. 2. NEUTROPENIA ASSOCIATED WITH PARVOVIRUS B19 INFECTION. 3. TUBERCULOSIS. 4. MOLECULAR VIROLOGY (ADENOVIRUS, SV40, DNA REPLICATION, GENE AMPLIFICATION). 5. CYTOTOXIC T LYMPHOCYTES DURING VIRAL INFECTIONS, IN MYOCARDITIS & AFTER ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION. 6. THE USE OF SYSTEMIC ANTIBIOTICS IN COMMUNITY HOSPITALS IN ISRAEL.
