Description:
The Orthopedic Surgery Department B provides state of the art treatment and care for a wide range of traumatic and elective musculo-skeletal disorders.
Our hospitals unique geographical location, straddling the major north south highway of Israel, and our proximity to the “green line” account for the disproportionate amount of trauma cases that we treat.
Large proportions of these cases are the result of high-energy injuries and suffer multi trauma, including multiple fractures, thoracic and abdominal injuries, burns and soft tissue defects. We work closely with and coordinate our care together with the other surgical disciplines in the hospital in order to provide prompt, comprehensive and definitive surgery.
In addition to our commitment to provide quality care for trauma victims, we provide complete specialist elective orthopedic surgery, including spinal and joint replacements, hand, foot and ankle surgery, shoulder and sports surgery.
Our Spinal Service is one of the busiest in Israel and has an excellent reputation.
The scope of our activity includes discectomies, spinal decompressions, spinal fusions and provides real-time CT-guided injectional studies and treatments. The service is headed by Dr. Yoram Folman, the director of the department.
The Foot and Ankle Service treats a wide range of degenerative, congenital and post traumatic disorders. The service is headed by Dr. Nimrod Ron, the deputy director.
The Joint Service treats developmental, degenerative and traumatic disorders of the hip and knee joints, including sports injuries. The scope of the treatments includes primary and revision joint replacements, knee arthroscopies and ligament reconstruction. The service is headed by Dr. Daniel Carlin and Dr. Yohanan Horev.
The Hand Service treats a wide range of congenital, degenerative, rheumatic, traumatic and posttraumatic disorders of the upper limb. The service is headed by Dr. Shmuel Luboshitz.
The Shoulder Service treats degenerative and traumatic disorders. The range of surgery includes total and partial shoulder replacements, ligament and arthroscopic surgery. The service is headed by Dr. Gill Laufer.
